Love Soldier turns the familiar image of the classic toy soldier into something unexpectedly tender. Standing firmly in its recognizable military pose, the deep green figure raises an oversized rifle that has been completely overtaken by a colorful collection of toys, beads, miniature characters, flowers, and found objects.
The contrast is at the heart of the piece: an object traditionally associated with conflict becomes a carrier of memories, innocence, and affection. The playful assemblage almost seems to disarm the soldier, replacing severity with color and transforming the sculpture into a witty reflection on choosing love over violence.
